about me
By the first grade, I knew exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up: a veterinarian.
But by freshman year in college, I'd learned that vet school means a lot of math - and I love animals, not math.

So, I didn't grow up to be a veterinarian. But I did work in the veterinary field for about
10 years before dot-coms opened the door to a career in web design. I really enjoyed the creative aspect of design, but animals have always been 'my thing'. I missed them.

It took many years to find a way to combine my creativity and a love for the four-legged, and being a pet photographer is honestly a dream come true. The thing I love most about photography is its ability to capture moments our eyes overlook, are too slow to see, or would like to remember forever. Experience has taught me to place huge value on the forever part.

Chasing the tiny details that bring a photograph to life means I spend A LOT of time covered in slobber, fur and biscuit crumbs... but I absolutely love what I do and think it's totally worth the extra laundry.

Bonus/Completely Random Trivia
My first hike was the Appalachian Trail. I'd never slept in a tent (let alone assembled one) and thought a "hike" was a walk in Central Park.

For company, I chose my dog Grendel (a friendly but scary-looking Rottweiler). I carried everything I needed on my back and used a camp stove without blowing myself up. The hike lasted 950 miles and taught me that if you just put one foot in front of the other, you can do pretty much anything. Even if it involves a scary camp stove.
