Barnes ambushed me with cuteness as I was walking into Safeway to do some grocery shopping. Luckily I’d just come from a photoshoot and had my camera with me.
The thing about Barnes that got my attention was that he looked exactly like a pug, only hairy. Think: pug in a gorilla suit. I was dying to know what kind of mix he was and it turns out he’s half pug, half Brussels Griffon. I don’t know if this makes him a Brug, but I do know it makes him really, really cute.

OMG!!!!!! I LOVE Brussels Griffons!!!!!!! Bambi and I were at an Agility Trial this past weekend and there was one there named Sweet Pea. She was so cute that every time I saw her had to visit. She was itty bitty and LOVED me oogling over her. When I would stop petting her she would look at me and bark…….I Love my Pugs but someday I’m going to get one. She reminded me of a little spider monkey.

PS: If you look real close you can see me, my big black camera and Safeway in Barnes’ left eye. He definitely got the pug eyes!
And people always say pug dogs look like aliens, this dog is even more adorably alien-like. How cute! He looks very wise, very yoda-like.
I was great friend with Barnes in his puppy days. I always referred to him as a Griffug. Love that Junior Barnes Muffin Face!!! Great picture…it captures his true essence.
