‘Adoptable Monday’ usually features a dog who’s looking for a home. But when I went to Rocket Dog’s monthly adoption event in the Castro yesterday to take pictures, no one was there.

Luckily the Castro is full of awesome dogs, and on the walk home I met Chewy. She was waiting outside a Nizarios Pizza, intently watching her human grab a bite to eat. When he came out to feed Chewy some pizza crust, I found out they live in Lake Tahoe and had come down to enjoy a weekend in the city before the heavy winter snows started falling.

Chewy enjoyed her pizza crust, and I enjoyed taking this picture when she was done.
