Rocky and Bentley are two of three family dogs (the third is an equally gorgeous Malamute/Wolf cross named Boomer - you’ll meet him next week). All were adopted from Norsled, a rescue group that focuses its efforts on Nordic breeds like huskies.
I share my home with two constant, heavy shedders so I was very curious what the fur situation is like in a house full of such long, beautiful coats. I was surprised to learn that Huskies blow their coats in twice yearly blizzards, but are otherwise fairly average in the shedding department. If you’d like to know more about Nordic breeds, the Norsled website has a really good overview of their origins, temperament and different personalities.

Beautiful!
They’re lying!!! Our house was constantly hair-some from our Husky. Yes, it was at it’s worst when he was blowing coat, but the rest of the year was pretty bad too!
My pug & dalmatian shed a constant, never-ending flurry. Perhaps a bi-annual blizzard sounded so good, I just imagined that part about average shedding the rest of the year? :)
Look at those beautiful eyes!
No, they’re not “lying”, it said they shed year-round. It is about an average amount when they are not blowing coat, ALL dogs shed! If you have a dog in your house, you have fur in your house. If you have a husky in your house, then you have fur in your house, AND twice a year you have fur blizzards in your house!
Even people loose their hair. . .so they are not lying.
We adopted a husky from them just recently. She is a beautiful handful of energy and gets bored easily.
We just love her! Her name is Audrey.(Like Audrey Hepburn)
Ok, maybe “lying” was a bit harsh! We live in Australia so maybe he shed a bit more than Sibes that live in a normal climate ;)

[...] If these look like the eyes of a wolf, they are. Well, sort of. Boomer is a Malamute/wolf hybrid. He was adopted from NorSled rescue, along with his housemates Bentley and Rocky. [...]
